  • Cade Barlow: Julian's brother, a healer-scientist-loner; made a werewolf by Julian over one thousand years ago in Scotland
  • Ella: A dark-eyed, thin Frenchwoman who was a werewolf, lived in Barlowsville; had been around since the French Revolution; became a good friend to Alex
  • Alana Barlow: Julian's wife, a werewolf killed by Alex
  • Edward Mandenauer: A slight, over 80 year-old man who heads the Jager-Suchers; he came to Alex to enlist her help
