  • Petra Kronos: A brave, strong independent girl whose love of her father led to her stealing back his eyes, which led to the family being in danger. Her best friends are Tomik and Neel, but she is thrown from them when John Dee yet again messes her life up, and rescues her from the Gray Men attack, sent by the Prince of Bohemia. Astrophil is her most loved and trusted companion, though.
  • Astrophil: Petra's pet and friend tin spider. He's very smart, for he reads all the time, but now he has learned to sleep. He can speak with Petra through their minds.
  • Mikal Kronos: Petra's dear old father. He loves Petra, but it still mad at the fact that Petra stole his eyes, because now the family is in danger. He trusts Astrophil to help her.
  • Tomik Stakan: Petra's best friend. She gave Atlanta, his pet dog, him. He's very smart and inventive, but doesn't know what to do when he's been kidnapped by Gypsies onto the Pacelot.
  • Tomas Stakan: The Master of the Sign of the Fire and Tomik's father.
  • Neel: He's now on a boat, the Pacelot, that will take he around the world to find the Celestial Globe. He captures Tomik with Treb, and their plan to sell him changes.
  • John Dee: A London spy for the queen. He rescues Petra from the Gray Men.
  • Treb: Neel's older cousin. He helps on the Pacelot and was the one that captured Tomik in the first place.
  • Sadie: Neel's sweet, pretty older sister.
  • Atlanta: Tomik's pet tin dog. She loves Astrophil and play time. She was a gift to Tomik from Petra.
  • Dita: Petra's cousin and Mikal's niece.
  • David: The son of Josef and Dita. An annoying boy but Petra's young second cousin.
  • Josef: Petra's cousin-in-law, and Mikal's nephew-in-law. A quiet man with rocky features.
  • Andras: Captain of the ship Pacelot.
  • Prince Rodolfo: The evil Prince of Bohemia that wants the Globe and wants to kill the Kronos family.
  • Stella: David's pet tin raven.
