Yes | No“Students will use the narrative tool of an alternate ending of a previously read story to show evidence of reading comprehension and written language proficiency. They will use grade level appropriate grammar and punctuation. Students will read the story The Green Ribbon, from the book In a Dark, Dark Room and Other Scary Stories by Alvin Schwartz. The students will then brainstorm and create an alternate ending to the story.- The students will now discuss different ideas they may have for how they think the story should end.
Each student will now self-edit their alternate endings. They can now create an illustrated instruction at the top of their writing. Lastly each student will have the opportunity to share their story.
I love alternate endings and think that they are a great way to get students minds working!”
“To me it is more funny than scary,it is a great book though.”
