The story starts about 80 years later after Savous has became the ruler of the elves at book 3, Dissent. It is about a pair of siblings who escaped into the forest after the brother killed a man. In the forest, they are captured by the rogues elves and was forced to have sex with them until they are used beyond exhaustion. Jarak, one of the underground elves, heard of this and with his group of people, went ot rescue them. The sister, Marisol and his brother were traumatised by the rogues and was taken underground to heal. Both Marisol and Jarak was attracted to each other but due to Marisol's mistreatment on the hands of the rogues, Marisol and Jarak was reluctant to act upon their instincts. Savous, upon consideration of the bad actions of his people, decided to let the siblings go back home. After months of living in the outside world, Marisol decided to return to the elves since she can think about nothing except Jarak. After returning, the spell to convert Marisol into one of them was placed, and it was discovered that Jarak and Marisol was truemates after all.
