This is such a horror story because we know it is not a story at all, but an accurate telling of the realities of the brutal policies of Joseph Stalin. More disturbing even than the novel itself was the post-note, telling us that Stalin had established similar concentration camps for children as young as two and three year old ! Where is the humanity!
