Meet Stephanie Plum. The Trenton native just got laid off as discount lingerie buyer for E.E. Martin's in Newark, but the worst part is, she lost her cherished Mazda Miata to the repo man. Replacement: a used Nova with a bad muffler. A visit to her parents and her Grandma Mazur, who lives with them, leads to a light at the end of the Jersey Tunnel: a job with her cousin Vinnie at Vincent Plum Bail Bonding Company. Ten thousand a pop for hauling in the bad guys--guys like Joe Morelli. Stephanie's childhood nemisis-turned-hunky-vice-cop now wanted on a murder rap. Still as sexy and dangerous as ever, the heat is on--and working with just-as-hot fellow bondsman and mentor, Ranger, Stephanie could get burned. The bright side? Stephanie's junked her Nova and hijacked Morelli's Jeep Cherokee. Unfortunately, it's soon blown to smithereens. Packing pepper spray and a .38 Special, and with two new men in her life, it looks like a promising new career for Stephanie Plum...
