Ill start by saying that imaginative renderings of the mortality of our Gods interest me a lot. Having said that, there is very little left to say about this book. I liked some of the concepts, like "mahadev" and "vishnu" being generic titles given to greats of an age, or the use of water of the Meluhans (after all River Saraswati was supposed to have dried out sometime after the Indus Valley era, maybe leading to the death of the civilization). Its a bit far fetched to put Rama, the king preceding Shiva the tribal leader, in history. One version of the Ramayana itself mentions Shiva as a God. Also bringing Shiva's existence to the Indus civilization itself. Good ones, I loved the out-of-the-box thinking, and the one star is for that. But I so wish the writing was up to the mark. It is difficult to read through even, it is so pedantic. A Chetan Bhagat of the myth-reality genre, and its very very far from a compliment!
