  • Jay Gatsby: Jay Gatsby is the next door neighbour of the narrator of the story and eventually befriends him through invites to his popular parties.
  • Nick Carraway: Nick is our eyes into the world of Gatsby. He is the narrator of Gatsby's story and as a consequence is Gatsby's way back into the life of Daisy.
  • Daisy Fay: To describe Daisy as the heroine of the story would be a step too far, but she is the romantic lead. She is married to Tom Buchannan, and is related to Nick Carraway.
  • Tom Buchanan: Big Tom is a "Polo Player". He is married to Daisy and is know to enjoy the company of other ladies, this does not go unnoticed by his wife and she often suspects that his lunchtime telephone calls are not business like he states.
  • Fitzgerald: Add a description of this character.
  • George Wilson: George owns the garage in between the Eggs and New York. He is a married man, but is devoted to his simple life.
