One of my favorite text parts in the book is that it switches off between the characters. You're able to see things in different points of view. It also helps you understand things easier. The characters also have different things happen to them so you know why something happened, and when. That's why I like the way the text is set up.

One of my favorite characters is Piper. She must choose whether to save her dad by killing her friends or save her friends. She ends up saving her friends and is willing to let her dad die. She realizes that the quest is more important than her dad. That is why she is my favorite.

One place that is most connected would be Mt. Diablo. They go there to rescue Piper's dad. They have to fight a giant and clay things to rescue him. They all have to work together to survive. You can understand the setting also because you know where it is. That's how it is connected.
