• Lisabeth 'Lisa' Lewis: The anorexic seventeen year old protagonist who is chosen to become the new Famine, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
• Tammy: lisa's current best friend
• James: Lisa's boyfriend
• Suzanne: Lisa's former best friend
• Death: The Horseman of the Apocalypse. He is the only one who lives forever. He sings like Kurt Cobain, who is dead. He sings like him because he can change to anything/one dead.
• Pestilence: One of the four Horsemen. He is not much to look at, but he is a philanthropist.
• War: The fourth horseman. She is fully into causing chaos. She was the only female horseman until Lisa became one.
• Sandy Lewis: Lisa's mother.
• Midnight: Lisa's horse who was called Famine until Lisa named the horse Midnight.
