“A very moving story written in smoothly flowing beautiful prose. I thought the beginning to be disjointed, but maybe that was just my mood - really don't know. This novels speaks of loneliness, love and loss. These themes are interwoven throughout the novel. The depicture of nursing during the War years is enough to draw anyone in. But on top of this, the author has crafted a wonderfully sad, whimsical story. I really loved it.”

“This was the first Margot Livesey book I read and I loved it so much I read every one of her other books. I love her narrative and descriptive writing. I also love that there is nothing predictable about her story telling. I really enjoyed Eva Moves the Furniture. I liked not knowing the intentions of her "companions". ”

“Misleading cover and title. A ghost story and this is why I usually avoid them. Although I like the idea of companions, I probably am more comfortable sensing rather than seeing their presence.

“Haunting and bittersweet. The story revolves around Eva and her mysterious "friends" that only she can see. This is a great book to give to a mom. I can't wait to read more of Livesey's work.”
