“One of the best superhero stories ever written, period. Miller's take on the Bat is harrowing, inspiring, belieavable, mythic, and entertaining... all at once.

“A solid, solid story taking place with Bats and the crew in middle age. Letting go and holding on are the motifs (well, per usual), and it's disturbing and edgy and an overall satisfying read.”

Far too many panels of TV screens and literal "talking heads." There are interesting ideas here, but I think it might have been handled better if Miller had written the script and the actual comic had been finished by another writer. The artist did a good job when he was able to do larger panels, but the multiple tiny panels are too cramped to do a proper job.”
