Now these warriors must hold these demons inside themselves for all time. Maddox, who holds violence, is warrior in the first book of the series “The Lord’s Of the Underworld.” Ashlyn Darrow is a Para-audiologist who can hear conversations from the past. When Ashlyn meets Maddox the voices stop and she begs him to stay with her but he knows the demon of violence is raging inside and she will not be safe. Maddox also suffers from another curse and there are human hunters after them. Passion flares between Maddox and Ashlyn but will it be enough to stop the hunters, the curse and most of all the violence?”

Growing up as the outcast that could hear any conversation from the past by just standing in the place where it happened had even forced her parents to give up on being around her, now the conversations lead her to believe these 'men' in this fortress could help to control this curse. Learning that there were intruders in the forest surrounding the castle, sent Maddox, Keeper of Violence out, needing to know if it was friend or foe trying to sneak up to there only sanctuary. After centuries of being hunted, the warriors who had become the Keepers of hells worst demons did not take chances with security, but this small human girl who did not seem afraid interested Maddox in a way no other ever had. So he broke the rules and brought her back to the fortress under his protection. Protection from the other warriors, other demons, and himself was going to be more difficult than facing the fires of hell every night. Maddox needed to understand why Ashlyn seemed happy he was around, he need to understand why Ashlyn affected him so much.
Wow, I don't want to give any spoiler to this one........ these characters are incredible, the outward fights and arguments are so intense, but the inner battles that rage between warrior and his demon are incredible. There are a lot of people to keep track of, which warrior is connected to which demon, but that really does get easy once you get to know these fabulous characters. To be more content in the presence of a demon is such a twist, as is the wonderful tenderness of the fairytale that is intertwined in the deep dark torture of the warriors. On the edge of erotic, this descriptive romance had me laughing and crying, but NOT putting it down till the end.”
