Probably from the title you can tell that this is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast - but what you won't guess, I bet, is that this version is told from the Beast's point of view, not Beauty's. Not only that, but when we meet Kyle (aka the Beast) he's living in modern day New York City, perfect...

Fun! Retelling of Beauty & Beast from Beast's perspective, if he were spoiled 15 year old prepschool kid in NYC. Pretty inventive/edgy while not becoming trashy, with brief "chatroom" sections in which Beast talks to other magically affected teens

I really liked the book. The main character really learned that its not all about the looks, but its more than that.

This book is about a stuck up Manhattan rich boy who depends on his looks to rule his school, but when he messes with the wrong person, he must pay. After asking the ugliest girl in school to the dance, and comming with the hottest girl instead, he is transformed into a beast. The only way to break the curse is to find true love and recieve a kiss, but what will happen if he does not believe a girl can fall in love with ugly men?

This book is AMAZING! Just to see how he grows as a character from a snobby, self loving, shallow jerk to a kind, amazing, loving person. And it was just so great! Just read it! READ IT! :D

It was a delicious romance with the most perfect characters. It was very modern so there were so many things I felt like I could relate to. I finished the book in one day and it is definitely one of my favorite books now. ♥

I am a beast. A beast. Not quite wolf or bear, gorilla or dog but a horrible new creature who walks upright—a creature with fangs and claws and hair springing from every pore. I am a monster. You think I'm talking fairy tales? No way. The place is New York City. The time is now. It's no deformity, no disease. And I'll stay this way forever—ruined—unless I can break the spell. Yes, the spell, the one the witch in my English class cast on me. Why did she turn me into a beast who hides by day and prowls by night? I'll tell you. I'll tell you how I used to be Kyle Kingsbury, the guy you wished you were, with money, perfect looks, and the perfect life. And then, I'll tell you how I became perfectly . . . beastly.

    Another Alex Flinn book.
    I loved it.

I guess I would call it a classic, just with a sort of twist. I don't really know how to explain it, really. But yeah. It was worth the hours it took me to read.
I sat down, and read it in one sitting. Not counting the time I took to do laundry.

This is a great book that makes you question about how people look and how we "judge a book by its cover". I really like this book because I have questioned stuff like this before I read the book.

I've read a lot of Beauty and the Beast retellings, but this is definitely my favorite. Told from the Beast's point-of-view, it gives us a look inside of what life before Beauty was like for the Beast, how he came to be cursed, what HE thought and felt about everything that happened.
