“This is a great book. It gave me lots to think about - Angels, Heaven, God, Jesus and unfortunately how quickly satan can "get into our lives" and even the children's lives. God prevails and the joy and light that he offers is beyond our comprehension!”Donnasg wrote this review Sunday, March 25, 2012. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No

“This book wasn't my favorite. I usually love hearing about these stories because to me, they're interesting, but this book seemed really boring. I didn't really want to read more like I had with the other two near death experience books I've read. In this book, a little boy goes into a coma from a car crash, and the story tells of his recovery. I enjoyed bits and pieces of it, but overall it was BORING. They wouldn't tell very much about his experiences, and you'd have to go back and read it from the part before. It was a touching story, but I didn't really enjoy it. ”Kynzie Smedsrud wrote this review Friday, March 23, 2012. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“It seems to me that there has been several of these types of books coming out lately (Heaven is for Real, 90 minutes in heaven, 26 minutes in hell). All of them are dealing with a person’s near death experience of the afterlife. In this particular book it tells the story of a six-year-old boy who become severely physically disabled due to a car accident. During his ordeal he experiences the wonders of heavenly encounters with angelic beings and visual access into heaven. Slowly his story and experiences are unfolded to give a glimpse into what heaven is like.
Probably like most people I have a great curiosity about the afterlife. And while I read these types of books with great interest, I do not find myself quick to embrace all that is written. Perhaps because the Bible says that “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived— these things God has prepared for those who love him.” So, while I enjoy the book’s account and do not doubt that the story is real, I tend to be skeptical of the ability of human words to adequately describe heavenly realities. To be fair, often Alex Malarkey (the boy who had the experience) expressed the same frustration.
I think these kind of books are inspiring for reminding us of heavenly realities. I think it provides a great source of discussion regarding the afterlife. However, If you are hoping to understand how amazing heaven is, this book will not satisfy you. Human words can never do heaven justice.”
“A wonderful testimony to the power of faith Alex and his family go through the horrors of an accident that should have killed him. Through the faith of his parents and his church family, and his own encounters with Jesus and angels Alex survives and has witnessed to the greatness of God. ”Bobbi wrote this review Thursday, March 22, 2012. “This was a really sad but good book. I recommend it to anyone who likes a good but sad miracle. It's truely fantastic to me how he makes it alive and how he survived with the really painfull injury.”Miranda T wrote this review Monday, April 23, 2012.
