“Alas, I could not enjoy this short novella. I got the feeling that I would have appreciated it more if I had read it in the context of a classroom. As it was, I could not relate to the characters or appreciate the plot. I found my mind wandering often and would completely lose the thread of the narrative. ”

“I actually really enjoyed this book, while it's a little on the depressing side, I enjoyed the symbolisim and the descriptiveness. It is not a work I would pick up litghtly, it's pretty hefty and gives you something to think about. Contrary to the rest of my class as we read this book, I enjoyed it (despite it's super creepy cover...)”
