“An excellent companion to different seasons....just true horror.”spencer d wrote this review Wednesday, April 17, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“Not a loser amongst these four stories. My favorite was probably A Good Marriage, but I enjoyed the others very much too. The creepiest was 1922; the rats made my skin crawl. I also thought 1922 moved slower than the other three stories.
These stories all have great plots and, except for 1922, they move pretty quickly. There was some predictability, but King always seems to do predictable with a twist that makes predictable a bit more interesting.
Full Dark, No Stars was a great read for me and I recommend it. I'm a fan of King, so of course, I'll be reading more Stephen King.
There is coarse language, sexual content, and violence. If you want to avoid those things, this isn't the book for you.
I borrowed this book from The Wichita Public Library. ”

“This wasn't a bad book. It's a collection of four short stories/novellas about what could drive someone to murder. The stories weren't bad in and of themselves. They focused on a farmer trying to save his farm, a cancer survivor trying to save his life, and 2 woman after particularly disturbing incidents.
My problem was the first story. I personally hate the word "derivative", but it reminded me of so many other stories that I really struggled to finish it. It probably could have done to have been removed or at least placed lower in the order, but for the fact that it got referenced indirectly in the subsequent stories.”
“Terrific read and gutty. Many of the short stories are griddy. A Good Marriage was my favorite of the stories.”Kenneth Fore wrote this review Monday, March 4, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“Stephen King is one of the best storytellers alive. He has a tremendous ability to make his characters believable whether the story is about vampires, the end of civilization, psycho clowns or cold blooded murderers. Full Dark, No Stars is not his typical novel where the horror comes frome the outside. This time the horror comes from what every human being carries inside. It is about the monster that lives inside us and what happens when circumstances let it out. Four great short stories that will keep you up all night.”Jorge Chavez wrote this review Monday, February 18, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No

“The first story was awful then they got better. 4 stories in all and afterward the note from the author explaining why he wrote them was very interesting.”Kassi J wrote this review Thursday, February 14, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“This actually reminded me of 'The Dark Teatime of the Soul' in title only. The things mankind is capable of when forced into certain cituations.. No humor in this book, but definitely worth your time.”Ludo Sak wrote this review Tuesday, February 5, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
