Should I loan this to my friend who suffers from an eating disorder herself?
I say YES because my sister in law suffered from it and books like this is what helped her heal. Esp. if you do it out of love. She might be pissed at you for awhile but send her cards and your support. You rather have a friend who hates you than a friend who is dead. Sorry, that may sound harsh but it worked for my sister in law when her mother said it to her. It was at that point she decided to change her habits. Good luck. Sincerely, Jo
It's a bit old (the question) to answer for you, but others may wonder the same thing. Yes...do lend it. The book doesn't trigger, in that it doesn't provide anybody suffering with anything they don't already know. Believe it or not, some books do give those ill with anorexia/bulimia ways to "beat the system" and continue to lose weight. What the book does do is describe how it feels, its driving force and conflicting feelings of guilt, yet terror at what's happening. All the best.
