What makes V.C. Andrews worth reading is the fact that her stories move along quickly and you are emotionally involved with the characters. Without these two factors they are just formulaic novels with nothing new. This story, while moving away from the usual formula, lacked any sort of excitement, was so confusing and the characters, even the bad characters weren't worth caring about. The book dragged on, and each chapter didn't really add anything. This should have been a novella.

Generally i love VC Andrews, all the older stuff is amazing. However although i found that there were many questions in this book - which got me to the end, the end happened to be very disappointing and rushed. In perhaps the last chapter all questions are answered and the character makes the worst choice! It should have ended with Buddy and Lorelei in the cafe. Instead it left me feeling cheated and disappointed.

I haven't read V.C. Andrews in years. I had a bit of triouble getting into the book but once I did the story line was good.
This is the first "vampire" type book I've read but it's enough to get me into reading the "Twilight" series.

Not a bad book but events were easily predictable, there was no mystery and suspense and there was a few holes and things that could have been explained a bit better.

I found this book to be very diffrent from the rest. not his best work at all. if you are thinking that it will have alot of vamp.action in it you will be disappointed. It's more of secrects then any thing.

OK .... slower than what I'm used to reading, but will read the next in series to see if it gets better.

I like this book, but it left you hanging a lot. I don't think that V.C. Andrews would have written a Vampire book. I think the family is taking a strange twist by letting new books be written in her name.
