  • Jack Shepherd: A doctor who is driven to fix everything and save everyone, who grapples with the struggle between science and faith.
  • Hugo Reyes: A man who thinks the numbers he used to win the lottery are haunted. On the island, he is practically the light of the party.
  • James Ford: A man who is haunted by his past when his parents were murdered.
  • Kate Austen: A fugitive on the run. Claims Aaron is her son when Claire goes missing.
  • Claire Littleton: The mother of Aaron who goes missing for 3 years.
  • Charlie Pace: A rock star from Drive Shaft. Dies trying to get Claire rescued.
  • Shannon Rutherford: Boone's sister. Gets shot by Ana Lucia while looking for Walt.
  • Boone Carlisle: Shannon's brother. Dies when Jack fails to save him.
  • Michael Dawson: Walts father. Dies when a freighter explodes.
  • Benjamin Linus: The leader of the Others.
  • Charles Widmore: Penny Widmore's dad. Enemy of Ben.
  • Juliet Burke: Sawyers girlfriend when the time flashes landed them in the past with the Dharma Initiative. Dies when "the incedent" drags a chain down the hole and the chain grabs Juliet.
  • Sayid Jarrah: A man from the Republican guard. Dies when a bomb sinks the submarine.
  • Sun and Jin: A married Korean couple. They both die when Sun gets trapped by a pipe and Jin refuses to leave her. The sub sinks and the couple dies.
  • Nadia: Sayid's wife. Dies in a hit and run.
  • Aaron Littleton: Claire's biological son and Kate's adopted son.
  • The Man in Black: Smoke Monster trying to reach the light, or the heart of the island. Dies when the light is put out and he made mortal, then is killed by Jack.
  • Ana Lucia: A police officer. Killed by Michael.
  • Walt: Michael's son.
  • Ilana: Jacob's protector. Dies when some unstable dynamite drops in front of her.
  • Jacob: Leader of the island. Dies when Ben stabs him and the Man in Black kicks him into the fire.
  • Alex: Danielle Rousseau's biological daughter and Ben's adopted daughter. Is shot by Keamy when Ben claims she means nothing to him.
  • Danielle: Alex's mother. Dies when shot by Keamy's team.
  • Karl: Alex's boyfriend. Is also shot by Keamy.
