This book is the second book in the Breed series. I fell in love with Dante from the start. He's tough to get to know, but when Tess brings out the best in him. Dante has the special gift of precognition handed down to him by his mother. He's been having the same vision for a while and when he meets Tess it gets more intense. The side story beside Tess and Dante, is the realization that the Rogues leader is up to his old tricks again. Still wanting to build an army to take down the Breed, a drug called Crimson is being pushed out on the street. The consequence of all this is that its turning the young vampires into Rogues. The Breed is hired to find out who is dealing the drug, who created it and how to stop it.

There were alot of one liners that kept me laughing. Dante was gentle with Tess when learning about her traumatic childhood. But most indearing I guess for me was the notion that Dante would rescue a dog that was basically on its last leg of life to get in good with Tess who is a veternarian. Man's got to what a man's got to do.
