It was so simple to follow. They gave you all the right clues in the book, but I have to say they kind of left an on finished story. But if you read close enough you could guess what happend.”

Cooney, this becomes the life of Alice Robie when someone murders her father and frames her for the crime. Everyone is trying to find Alice to turn her into the police. She has to battle her own emotions while running from the authorities. Alice knows that she did not murder her own father, but the proof makes this hard to believe. A confession to the murder was sent to Alice's mother from her...but she did not write it. To make matters worse, whoever the real murderer is, he/she is after Alice too! Can she solve her father's crime before it is too late?
Descriptive writing includes sensory language, metaphors, similes, and any descriptive language. It is used to describe objects, places, nature, people, and any other part of a book. This book has many examples of descriptive writing. One of the best examples is in Chapter 8, on page 159, in Wanted. Alice goes into a college dorm to hide and is describing one of the girls that she sees. "She was beautifully groomed and had ironed her khaki trousers. Her shirt was crisp, with a pleated front, and a heavy necklace of brown and black beads hung like a scarf." This description allowed me to picture the girl extremely well in my head. It describes her appearance in great detail and allowed me to get an idea of what kind of person the girl is. Descriptions make this book more interesting and enjoyable. Another description that I thought was a good example of descriptive writing is in Chapter 2, on page 29: "Now a chilly ripple of fear traveled across her skin." This is when Alice is trying to understand her father's death, and she is extremely frightened. I feel like this description captures the enormity of her situation.
This mystery was extremely suspenseful! The pages flew by as I tried to keep up with Alice's fast pace on her run for survival. Caroline B. Cooney is amazing at writing thrilling books that keep the reader on their toes at all time. I highly recommend this book to all young adults who enjoy mystery/suspense books. ”
