I loved this book! I could barley put it down. However, I found the ending a bit rushed. It all went to fast.

This book is probably fine if you have not read a lot of Dean Kootnz. I have, and I have found it to be quite derivative of his other books, i.e., it is about dogs (particularly golden retrievers) with supernatural powers, wise cracking protagonists, handicapped children, darkly demented and...

I like Dean Koontz, I like his respect for dogs, and his hope in humanity

Um...an odd book to be sure. I couldn't sympathize with the characters and felt like I just wanted to hurry up and finish the story. The storyline was simply unbelievable. Probably would have better been classified under fantasy. Don't get me wrong, the story was well-written and mildly interesting, but something about it just didn't strike a chord with me. Guess I'm not a fan of multitudes of miraculous divine interventions at precisely the right moment.

Standard Koontz fare. Normally I'm a huge fan of Dean Koontz, but this one for some reason struck me at an odd angle. All of the elements are there, but the threads tying them together just don't work for me.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. One of his best thrillers in recent times. It hooked me right from the beginning, which is a the sure-fire indicator that you're in for a great read. It had all of the elements you like in a thrilling page-turner: murder, mystery, characters with a shady past, intrigue and hints of other-worldly forces at play. Whether or not you're a fan of Koontz, if you like a good thriller I definitely recommend this book.

A solid book, great twist. Although if you're one of those people that question everything, it can tend to be a bit predictable.

Very odd book. Intense and entertaining, and great for a dog-lover, but the supernatural elements of it caught me off-guard. I think if the author explained the seemingly-supernatural aspects in non-supernatural ways, it would've been better. What I mean is, I think the dog should have been a saviour because of a dog's natural loyalty, not through some supernatural explanation.
The climax had a very intense build-up, but the actual final conflict in itself was very quick. The book also contained lot of torturous, sick and twisted imagery that made me a bit squeamish.

I listened to this on CDs, read by Kirsetn Kairos. It's a strange mix of horrific evil and torture at the hands of two sociopaths set against the healing powers of love in the form of golden retrievers and angels sent by God. Koontz often deals with the supernatural but this title has a decidedly Christian emphasis. An odd but compelling tale with an interesting plot twist that ties everything together.

The book at first really pulls you in with all the people but then you notice they start to take a turn in the story I really didn't care for. You continue to read because you want to see how it ends even though you don't like the ride but then the ending is such a let down. You leave the book with the thought......now that was ended badly. Almost like it was just thrown in as a after thought. A very big let down considering how good Koontz is with using words to describe every detail.

Great read if you love animals and a lot of edge of your seat excitement.
