This book repeats a lot of the concepts from the sevenwaters trilogy, only in a less interesting fashion. Too predictable as well. It's a shame, as I really wanted to like this book.

Beautiful writing all around with exciting moments and in a culture I had never visited before.

I decided I wanted to read this book because I have so much enjoyed Marillier's other books. When I first started Wolfskin I wasn't finding myself getting into it as much as I usually do, but I gave it time and found that I was really enjoying the story more the further it went along. The story of the blood oath between Eyvind & Somerled as well as the story of Eyvind finding his true self is fascinating and hopeful. I look forward to reading Foxmask and know that I will enjoy it just as much.

Loved it. Wasn't the same as Sevenwaters, but the plot's twists were great. I loved the dilemma Evyind's ties to Somerled presented when he realised so much of the death he'd seen was linked to his old friend. Brother Tadgh was a favourite character of mine for his peacefulness. Nessa's pain I could really feel and then the love that blossomed between a man who should've been her enemy was so satisfying. Definitely glad for picking this one up.
