Skinny Bitch

by Kim Barnouin, Rory Freedman

Not your typical boring diet book, this is a tart-tongued, no-holds-barred wakeup call to all women who want to be thin. With such blunt advice as, "Soda is liquid Satan" and "You are a total moron if you think the Atkins Diet will make you thin," it's a rallying cry for all savvy women to start eating healthy and looking radiant. Unlike standard diet books, it actually makes the reader... (read more)

I'm not at all a prude, but this book was very crude.

This book was amazing It had so many eye opening facts and trust me you want to know what goes into the food you put in your body.

Although being a vegetarian or vegan can be difficult it really shows a new respect for those who choose to live under the lifestyle

By the way, they mention in the book like on the last pageish why they named the book Skinny Bitch

Interesting yes, realistic? Not so much. I enjoyed reading the book while eating some of the junk that will not make me into anything resembling a Skinny !@#$%.

I was glad I read this book. I didn't become a vegan or a vegetarian and I was already starting to come to the realization on my own that you don't need meat with every meal, but this book brought some of those issues to the front of my mind again.

The last 1/2 especially is a lot of conspiracy theories and overreaching conclusions about government entities being in a cahoots. I'm not saying they don't have a point.. just that they did a lot of harping on it and it got old really fast.

I really liked the specific recommendations they gave about foods to eat and brands that support vegan food.

I haven't read the book yet, but the comments seems pretty positive generally. However, the title is rather off-putting. Was the author expecting a lot of resentment at the outset or it just an attention seeking tactic? As for going vegan, that is the surest way of losing weight and there are no buts about it!
