Lovely story of sibling love, coming of age, and adventure. Not as annoyingly I'm-from-NH as Finding Somewhere was, this was easier to read.

In the book wish, Bee was left at a hotel by her mom, an her mom never came back so Bee left to California for her brother tommy. They went there because tommy wanted to see Ty. When they got there Bee fell in love with this boy named little brew. After that they went surfing and tommy went under water and could not breath and bee did not have time to get the inhalers and so they ended up going to the hospital and he got better. My favrite part of the story is when tommy doesen't die.

Tommy is fascinated by sharks. He also has cystic fibrosis. He is granted his wish to go see a live great white shark on the west coast of California, so he, his sister, and his mother fly out there. The trip does not go quite as planned, and so his sister, Bee, decides to try to help make it more memorable for Tommy.

Story of Tommy and Bee and there day of adventure on the CA coast. Tommy has cystic fibrosis and has a wish to swim with a great white shark. They do the next best thing and go out with a surfer who has been attacked by a great white and lived to tell about it. The day is not what they expected. Another great read by Monninger. He knows how to spin a tale about ordinary kinds of people.

Some of the writing does not seem authentic for a teenager's point of view. The cover is all wrong.

Bee’s brother, Tommy, knows everything there is to know about sharks. He also knows that his life will be cut short by cystic fibrosis. And so does Bee. That’s why she wants to make his wish-foundation-sponsored trip to swim with a great white shark an unforgettable memory. But wishes don’t always come true. At least, not as expected. Only when Bee takes Tommy to meet a famous shark attack survivor and hard-core surfer does Tommy have the chance to live one day to the fullest. And in the sun-kissed ocean off a California beach, Bee discovers that she has a few secret wishes of her own.
