Setting & Locations edit
Enchantment, Pennsylvania is the town patterned after the real town of Franklin, PA where the Enchanted Inn is. The real town of Tidioute, PA is used as a pattern for the area of the log cabin in the Allegheny National Forest situated in the Allegheny Mountains. The author had a cottage in this same area and actually lived in the same place the story takes place.
- Kinsua Dam Viaduct: Three hundred and one feet high trestle bridge built in 1882 and used for lumber transport. Became a tour in present day until it was destroyed by a tornado in apporximately 2001.
- Tittusville, Pennsylvania: This town is referenced to the town where one of the twins goes to college, although the town name is not mentioned.
- The Allegheny River in the Allegheny National Forest: The river has some important moments in the book.
