If I could talk to the author about how the book was written what would I talk about? I would probably talk to him about how he came up with the ideas to use Greek mythology and if that was something he studied and really liked a lot. I would ask him why he choose the characters he did. I would tell him that he did a great job at coming up with good action to keep people on their toes and it made them just want to keep reading more and more. I haven’t read any of his other books but after reading this one I want read his other books.
My favorite character was Grover. He had a funny personality and was always cracking jokes. He had a big responsibility to take care of Percy and after his mom got gored by the bull he thought he had failed at his job and that no one would ever like him. He was down on himself and wouldn’t forgive himself. I went through something kind of like that was I just had to get over it and realize that I would never do it again, so that’s what Grover had to do. Just forget about it and move on.
I think the person that learned the most important lesson is Percy. He learned that you don’t ever give up till you achieve your goals. Percy had to keep trying and trying to get his mom back, figure out who his dad is, and retrieve the lightning bolt. He was a pretty you kid who had many great tasks to achieve and even after had achieved everyone he thought he needed to he had to overcome one more and did it with pride.
I think that if I could change anything in the book I would have added a little more action just for more suspense to it. I would have added a little more description to some of the things like when he was in the water and he finds the pearls and another time when he is in Haiti’s layer trying to get his mom back. But other than that I thought the author did a great job.

“This book is about a boy named Percy jackson who is son of posidon. When zeuses lightning bolt is stolen everyone think that percy has stolen it. Percy has to enbark on a dangerous journey to find the real theif and to return it to zeus by the summer solitice. I was drawn to keep on reding this book because you can never suspect what will happen next. There is always something else going on and the author puts many small details such as the history of the greek gods and he shows you everything instead of just telling it to you. This makes the book more interesting. In the book the main character is 13 years old, so i can relate to him in many occasions because we both do things alike, like taking the bus/subway, or going to school and dealing with teachers I recommend this book to young teenagers because they will be able to relate to this book. This book captures the readers attention and you wont be able to put the book down I give this book a thumbs up. ”
