Several moons have passed since six cats set out from the forest on an urgent journey to save all their Clans. Now those six are traveling home again, but on their way through the mountains, they meet a tribe of wild cats who seem to have their own set of warrior ancestors . . . and their own mysterious prophecy to fulfill. Stormfur can't understand their strange fascination with him, but he knows the danger they face is real.
Meanwhile, back in the forest, Firestar and his daughter Leafpaw watch ThunderClan's world crumble around them. Will the questing cats make it back in time to save the Clans, or will they be too late?

  • Brambleclaw: A young warrior of ThunderClan, sent by StarClan to travel to the Sundrown Place to speak with Midnight. He is the son of Tigerstar and Goldenflower, and his sister is Tawnypelt of ShadowClan. He is a dark brown tabby with amber eyes.
  • Squirrelpaw: A warrior apprentice of ThunderClan, accompanying the 4 cats sent to the Sundrown Place to speak with Midnight. She is the daughter of Firestar and Sandstorm, and her sister is Leafpaw of ThunderClan. She is a dark ginger cat with green eyes. finds Bramblepaw very annoying
  • Feathertail: A young warrior of RiverClan, sent by StarClan to travel to the Sundrown Place to speak with Midnight. She is the daughter of Graystripe and Silverstream (deceased), and her brother is Stormfur of RiverClan. She is a light gray she-cat with blue eyes.
  • Crowpaw: A warrior apprentice of WindClan, sent by StarClan to travel to the Sundrown Place to speak with Midnight. He is a dark smokey gray, almost black, cat with blue eyes.
  • Stormfur: A young warrior of RiverClan, accompanying the 4 cats sent to the Sundrown Place to speak with Midnight. He is the son of Graystripe and Silverstream (deceased), and his sister is Feathertail of RiverClan. He is a dark gray cat with amber eyes.
  • Tawnypelt: A young ShadowClan warrior, sent by StarClan to travel to the Sundrown Place to speak with Midnight. She is the daughter of Tigerstar and Goldenflower, and her brother is Brambleclaw of ThunderClan. She is a tortoiseshell cat with green eyes.
  • Leafpaw: ThunderClan's young medicine cat apprentice. She is the daughter of Firestar and Sandstorm, and her sister is Squirrelpaw of ThunderClan. She has an strong connection with her sister. She is a light brown tabby with amber eyes and white paws.
  • Firestar: The leader of ThunderClan. He is Sandstorm's mate, and the father of Squirrelpaw and Leafpaw. He is a flame-colored tom with green eyes.
  • Cinderpelt: ThunderClan's medicine cat. She was originally a warrior apprentice, but due to an accident near the thunderpath (she was struck by a monster), she has a permenant limp, and became Yellowfang's apprentice. She's not the best interpretor of prophecies due to this. She is a dark gray cat with blue eyes.
  • Sandstorm: A warrior of ThunderClan. She is Firestar's mate, and the mother of Squirrelpaw and Leafpaw, and Sorrelpaw's mentor. She is a pale ginger cat with green eyes.
  • Stoneteller: leader/medicine cat of the tribe of rushing water.
  • Purdy: old loner that helps the six cats
