Tied as one of my two favorite Richard Laymon books this is a very clever innovative story, one of his more deep stories... and I don't just mean because it is set in a cave. Richard Laymon's stories are usually based around human(ish) killers and the terrible things that they are capable of. This isn't just a trip into a cave, it is a journey somewhere much darker, the human soul.
