A village is tormented by what they think are elfs. Turns out when Guts destroy the bug like creatures, they transform into there once true form children. Jill a child he had saved in the previous manga discovers the leader of these creatures is a girl Rosine who was once her friend. Roseine offers Jill a change to turn into the a creature live 'happy ever after'. Only these creatures are not just children transform, but they have changed into blood thirsty demons who kill each other.

  • Guts: The Black Swordsman. He wants to fight against demons to get revenge for those he has lost.
  • Jill: A small girl whom he had saved from bandits. Her father used to serve in a war but now is nothing more than a drunk. Her mother simply takes the abuse.
  • Puck: A small Elf who looks kind of like a fairy. Puck always works to get Guts to do the right thing help the people.
  • Rosine: Once a girl from the village now turned into a demon creature who only wants to have fun, no adults allowed.
