Yeah, it is an extrememly hilarious book! I loved it!!!! I goes thru all teh painful stages of being a freshman!!
"Sleeping Freshmen Never Lie" is a light-hearted novel that brings both enjoyment and relaxation. Through a uplifting plot, David Lubar shares the true perspective of a teenager. Scott had one goal for his freshmen year-to survive! However, he went through an incredible flux, with his mom suddenly pregnant, bullies, popularity, and school work. My favorite quote from the book is, “We all suffered. And I guess we all had good times. too. Man-if every person who ever felt lonely killed himself, the world would be littered with corpse. And far lonelier." The reason that I like this quote is that it shows reality. There are times when we face obstacles and difficulties in life, and we must overcome them. There might be a few cases when we are able to escape from them (and reality), but we can not always run away. I admire Scott's intrepidity. My favorite scene is when Scott asked Lee to the dance. Through the book, I can see the growth of Scott. At first, he was chained down to the thoughts of popularity and so-called “reputation". The majority thought Lee was a weirdo, and at first Scott was reluctant to talk to her, because he didn't want people to see him as an outcast, too. But throughout the novel, Scott found who he was, and was not paranoid at what he was becoming anymore. He finally took a step into maturity, and this is a breakthrough in the book. I think Scott will be a great roommate! He has a great personality, and he has fantastic humor. Scott is quite knowledgeable as well, which doubles up the fun. I would recommend this book to people who are looking for entertainment. The main character is an average Joe who learns eh to stand up for himself and his friends and family when it matters. Throughout the book there are light-headed humors that will bring enjoyment to people who are looking for a nice laughs and a little bit of what to expect in high school years (even though I don't think some parts are portrayed quite realistically.
I enjoyed this book. My teacher read it as a read aloud and i think that made it more thrilling. If I didn't have such an enthusiastic reader i don;t think i would have enjoyed it as much.
i loved this book and i especially liked the fact that he ended up with Lee that was very surprising!
