I believe the author failed in giving the book too similar a voice as the main character, who has Asperger's and doesn't emote much. Because of this lack of emotion in the voice, I also lacked sufficient emotional investment in the characters and ended up sympathizing too much with the view of the main character in the execution of the "horrifying" events--though ethically flawed, because I had come to understand his thinking so well, they seemed to have a logical progression. I was distanced from the emotional impact they should've had in order to be truly horrifying. Thus the story left me relatively unmoved. I might recommend it if you have an interest in genetics, cloning, religion and the relating ethical issues. Otherwise, pass.”
