It is about the Alaskan Royal family, the Baranov's, however the focus of this book is on Princess Alex and her new doctor love interest, with a side story involving Jenny and a potential new love interest. This takes place in the United States, so there is some conflict as to what the relationships to lead to since Alaska is another country, rather than the state of Alaska.
This novel was good, although I didn't enjoy it as much as the first. Alex's clawing at becoming her own woman and branching out in the romance department is an interesting read - along with her dealing with *SOMEWHAT OF A SPOILER* the event involving her family and a death at her own hands in the previous novel.
The King is back in this story as a side character, and there is some mention of Christina and David, although not much. It was a good read, as all of MaryJanice Davidson's books are, but this was not a favorite for me.”
“This is another in the humorous books about a rather dysfunctional Alaskan monarchy in an alternate reality. Princess Alexandra is the one making the trouble now. She's recovering from having to kill someone in order to save the King's life and she visits America. There she visits Dr. Rivers, a marine biologist, and takes a fancy to him.
One thing leads to another, as it always does in this series of books. Dr. Rivers detests the rich, but is still attracted (and more) to the princess. In the end, he has to decide if he loves her enough to overcome his dislike of the rich and to become a Prince himself.
Quite a cute book, really.”
“Fun, sexy novel to curl up with when you're not in the mood for anything heavy.”
