    A frothy little book.

    Promising premise preempted by promiscuity.

Reads like a low-budget but fast-paced summer movie.

Evidently this is setting up a series with recurring characters:

    1) Woman killed in accident brought back to life by a secret government agency and implanted with nanobytes (snark) and made "bionic"
    2) Man previously handled the same way

They join forces. She is a brilliant woman who hides her brilliance behind potty valley-speak - even if they do live in Minnesota.

At the beginning, I thought "How refreshing! An anti-heroine!" Yes - she is. However, to plumb her depths you wouldn't even get your feet wet. Shallow is to lofty a term for her.

The humor is quite good - thus the 2 stars. Without it, I would give this book zero stars. I'm hoping the next one in the series will find a more compelling storyline (knew from the first instant who the murderer was and what was the motive) and, perhaps, even show some character development.

This is a good beach-type read. Your mind won't be exercised and your heart won't be engaged. Even the sex scenes which were too many, too quick, involved too many people (separately) and, frankly, were as, um, titillating as watching someone brush his teeth.

There is great possibility here. Seriously. This could be the first shot of a very interesting series. This is being compared to Evanovitch's Plum series. The Plum series is dieing because it has become so boiler plate. My fear is that the Davidson series is picking up at that point rather than spending some time with quality storylines first.

We'll see how this all works out.

Caitlyn James is salon-owner in her mid-twenties, a woman who changes her hairstyle to suit her needs and moods. After a limo accident in Miami (a trip she had taken with her best pals to celebrate her birthday), she wakes up in a Minnesota hospital only to discover that she's been fixed up with nanobytes--she's the new Six Billion Dollar woman. None too thrilled that she's been enhanced without her knowledge or permission, Caitlyn has trouble adjusting to her newfound powers--and the fact that she now is indebted to The Boss, the man who had her enhanced and who runs a top-secret government organization.

Caitlyn agrees to perform one job for The Boss--find and "neutralize" the guy responsible for infecting the world's computers with nasty viruses that download porn on a person's computer. When she finds the suspect, she realizes the geek only needs a thirty-second sexual encounter to curb his porn-virus habits.

Only, of course, one job isn't enough for The Boss. There's another cyborg-enhanced OSF Agent loose in the world, someone who has gone rogue and is killing the doctors who make up the team that made them. The Boss is determined that Caitlyn will find the rogue agent--who he believes is Dmitri--and bring him to justice. Unfortunately, Dmitri is the first guy Caitlyn's been attracted to in a long time, and she has doubts that he's really the killer.

Another MJD story with a sassy, loud-mouthed heroine, a to-die-for hero, and a best friend who pulls no punches in the form of Stacy, HELLO, GORGEOUS! is a quick, fast read.

The story is rather short, but it's funny and typical MJD.

    ***Spoiler Alert***

Again the dialogue is very childish, Caitlyn is Betsy, Stacy is Jessica and Dimitri is Sinclair.
Problems with this book are that the main charecter does impulsive and stupid things for someone who is smart(eg: she gets on a Jet and flies to places unknown with a guy who knocks her out).

She and Dimitri just fall in love, just like that...in the "Undead and Un..." series Betsy and Sinclair were destined to be together and here they love each other just coz they are both Cyborgs and are horny *Yay!*

Stacy, also a black best friend, dates The Boss who sounds so incredibly ugly (dark hair but eyebrows so pale he looks eyebrow-less O_o)they met at a party and had sex and it was lurve from then on...Dimitr tells Caitlyn that it took him 8 years to know the Bosses name and yet he (the Boss) tells Stacy after having sex (the name is Gregory btw)

Her first job is to kill a computer geek who is spreading 3 viruses, not stop or arrest but KILL (wtf?), of course she doesn't kill him instead she has sex with him and *bam* problem solved, computer geek loses interest in spreading viruses

The murder is just something tagged on because the story focuses more on Caitlyns hair/lust/angst/need for a manicure/cyborg abilities/sex drive than anything else. And just like in U&U Caitlyn spends a lot of time complaining about being turned into a cyborg and is incredibly rude to the Boss...and this never changes, she bitches/whines/calls him names/throws tantrums/tries to kill him/we've seen this before!

Plus, by the end of the book C&D are getting married and...*suprise!* he happends to be a duke (no joke) so she is semi-royalty now

Not a horrible book but a boring book, she could have done so much with a story like this but she went the way of Undead & Un... with the only differance being Caitlyn is a Cyborg while Betsy is a Vamp, and the Undead and Un... series had a better...everything
    2/5

Contemporary romance is what it says on the spine, but it's more chick lit/paranormal. Heroine is in an accident & would have died, except she's picked up by a shadowy government agency and transformed into the Bionic Woman. There are actually two romances in the book, but they take a back seat to the humor and action.

Caitlyn James died in a car accident.

Caitlyn James was brought back to life.

    Sort of.

There's a series of emails between “The Boss” and some doctor about whether or not to use her body in an experiment. Two months later, she runs into a friend of hers. While talking, Caitlyn thinks about what happened and how she was changed and is now working for the government.

Caitlyn has refused to work for the government, though, and they send a squad to get her, but she beats them all up. She's essentially the Bionic Woman, with shades of the Terminator thrown in, plus some additional features.

She talks to the Boss and agrees to do one job for him if the group will leave her alone after that. She also happens to own a salon.

Her first task is to stop someone who is sending out email viruses. It's a teenager, and instead of killing him, she has sex with him. He agrees to stop sending the viruses.

She threatens to tell everyone about the government agency, but the Boss says to go ahead, and that no one will believe her. (Which could mark a mistake in the story, as all she would have to do is find some doctor who could do blood tests on her and he would find nanites in her system.

Caitlyn is sure Sara, a customer, is a spy for the Boss, and she is. The Boss wants her to do another job, but she refuses.

She finds out she has an off switch, which gets her very, very angry. She goes with Dimitri, the guy who turned her off, and finds out Dimitri is a cybernetic organism, like her, and was made before her. The people who have been dying are ones on the team that made Caitlyn, and Caitlyn suspects Dimitri, and he suspects her.

Someone else is killed, so Caityln and Dimitri now know neither one of them is the killer. They end up having sex. They finally catch the murderer.

After that, there's a short story, Ten Little Idiots.
A group of people are at a resort on an island. Someone appears to have been killed, but the police can't be called due to weather conditions. They find a body, but can't get to it because it's on the rocks below the mansion.

They run into a problem when they realize that everyone in the group is accounted for, leaving them wondering exactly who was killed.

The rest of the story involves a lot of sex, the revelation of who was killed and why, and more sex.

I enjoyed finally reading the first in this series as I read the 2nd book first. It was a fun story with great humor. A nice, quick read.

A story about a woman cyborg who hates her boss, owns her own hairstudio, and meets up with another male cyborg who seems to be a walking Adonis. It was a good story though I thought it could have been fleshed out more, and it made me laugh. That's always important, especially if that's its intention. I recommend it if you like her books.
