“fun, new generation take on science fiction. Yu gives a nod to classic science fiction while recognizing his own roots and the aspirations of modern day inventors for the next break through. ”

I kinda like it, though I understand that it takes from the reader the ability to create their own image of a place or person. The book itself is funny, irreverent and perplexing. About halfway through and happy so far. Done now-the author has one lively, convoluted mind. Good SF tempered by poignancy.”

It lulls a bit in the middle and sentences tend to ramble, but it's touching, exciting, funny, weird, and one of the best books I've read in a long long time. Or never. Or always. ”

I most liked the creative thought put into the premise and how the author carried it through to the end; I wasn't particularly drawn to the primary character and narrator, nor did I find his choices or motivations in the plot very compelling. Still glad I read it.”

The writer is a stylist, not a storyteller. I found the main plot poor and the main character hard to relate to - or too easy to relate to - which made it impossible to enjoy. I had to skim several pages just to finish the novel.”

It had some nice comedic touches but the Universe wasn't well fleshed out and most of the focus was on a man's relationship with this father.”
