Connie Willis writes wonderful stories about historians from the future who travel into the past. This time, they've landed in London during the WWII Blitz. It's a fascinating glimpse into this microcosm of history, and you won’t want to put the book down. You know something will go wrong from the moment these characters land in the past, and you can't wait for them to realize it. They face a universal fear, to be trapped in a place far from home, to possibly never see anyone you know again. And while engrossed in this story, you're learning about the toll the frequent bombings took on the citizens of London. Be warned, though, that you’ll want to read ALL CLEAR as soon as you finish this story.
