This fantasy novel, based on the fairy tale "East of the Sun, West of the Moon", represents the best of fantasy fiction nowadays. The structure is true to old time fairy tales while bringing modern elements that connect with modern readers. The story's pace is consistent with moments that are very edge-of-seat-ish, if you know what I mean.

Anyway, this is a great book, and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys fairy tales, even the closet fairy-tale lovers. I am talking to you,...
