• Wisteria Rose Allogood aka Wisty: Witch that is wanted by "The One Who is the One". Whit's sister. Has a magical gift over fire.
• Whitford P. Allgood aka Whit: Wizard that is wanted by "The One Who is the One". Wisty's brother. Gift over fortune telling, among other things.
• The One Who Is The One: Evil leader of the N.O. Searching for Wisty and Whit. Has the gifts over earth, wind, and water.
• Sasha: Friend of Whit and Wisty who they met in the Shadowland.

• Shadowland: The land of Half-Lights and Lost Ones. You can travel through the Shadowland with the help of portals, but humans tend to get lost forever and become Lost Ones. Animals can travel easily, because they can sense portals
• Overworld: The land on the surface of the world, so to speak. The N.O. is trying to take over all of the Overworld and the Underworld
• Freeland: The land the resistance resides in. The land the One Who Is The One doesn't control.

• The New Order (N.O.): The new government of the Overworld, commonly referred to as N.O. They are scrictly against anything creative, fun, or magical. Led by The One Who Is the One and his COuncil of Ones
• Resistance: People, mostly kids, who live in Freeland (land yet to be taken by the N.O.) and oppose The One's leadership.
• The New Order Portal Elite (N.O.P.E.): Add a description of this organization.

• Beaner: A derogatory term for people who have the good sense to pay attention to the important things in everyday life, such as budgest, performance, reviews, and municipal statistics
• Wunny: an unpleasant expression apparently used by the rebels to describe any unpleasant situation
• sandwich: a silly word rebels use to scare their children- it apparently refers to the stain on the ground left by a person who has fallen prey to a "Lost One" a zombielike creature that inhabits their fantastical realm of spirits
• wisteria: a climbing ornamental vine with fragrant usually purple clusters of flowers- for obvious reasons, mention of this now extinct species of plant is prohibited.
• pilgarlic: an archaic construct formerly used to describe a man without a full head of hair.
