The Catcher in the Rye is a novel by J.D Salinger that revolves around the life of a young perturbed teenager, who struggles with the process of becoming a mature individual. Consequently, Holden Caulfield (the main character) is extremely obnoxious during this trajectory and he treats most of the people with disrespect and a sense of superiority. Furthermore, he is disgusted by the society that surrounds him, describing everything and everyone with full revulsion. After he is kicked out of Pencey's high-school, he experiences different types of situations that shows the real concerns of the character and how he manages each encounter and other characters.
