This is an excellent book! I bought it on the discount rack at a local Christian bookstore. That being said, I went into this with very low expectations, having not read anything previously by Tom Morrisey. I usually get bored reading the "literary" type fiction, but this one grabbed me...

Okay....this book is unlike any other book that I've read. I've read other books by the author, but this one took me by surprise. Instead of mystery, suspense, and people struggling to survive attempts on their lives...this book is about a 16 year old son and his father coping with tragedy. It was a very compelling story...one that kept me awake at night thinking about the implications.

This is an excellent book! I bought it on the discount rack at a local Christian bookstore. That being said, I went into this with very low expectations, having not read anything previously by Tom Morrisey. I usually get bored reading the "literary" type fiction, but this one grabbed me early on and would not let go. This book reads like a memoir, making it absolutely believable. And to top that off, it appealed to me as a "man's man" book. This is one I highly, highly recommend and will make other poeple read it as well.

In High Places was written so well I found myself in the dictionary looking up the "tools" for climbing to make sure I understood them and could pronounce them.

Touching, profound, and haunting. One of my favorites.
