The second book in the Twitche's series is called Building a Mystery. The book is written by Randi Reisfield and HB Bilmour.T The cover art is by David Loew.

In this book it is confirmed that the Twitch's are really sisters. Alex is now staying with the Barns. Against her reluctance she agrees to meet the Six Pack (Camryn's crew). At PITTS (Pie In the Sky) a local popular pizza hangout the twins enconter Illena again disguised as a waitress who warn them about a potential "messenger" of the evil Thantos.

Thier are three possible suspects the dark and mysterious Cade Richmond who Alex is immediately drawn too, the new and irritatingly whiny Madison who seems to follow the twins every movement and the new math teacher Mr. Shnoer. As well as having to figure out the messenger there is also a mystery around Cade. The school bully is accused when someone breaks into Cade's home.

Cam is getting premonitions of a car accident. When Alex bonds with Cade she begins to tie things together. Cade's sister Karyn and a friend were driving in a car one night and hit a young Asian boy. Karyn out of guilt wants to confess but her friend black mails her to keep silent. Cade is the one that has been breaking into his own home and taking the money to pay off her friend. I think he has also been taking the money too buy flowers for the boy's room and parents.

They also confront Karyn's friend and place a very nasty spell on her that turns her hands all sticky and bloody when she tries to toss some money at them also to keep quiet. She then confesses to the police her part in it.

Alex and Cam with there powers combined disguessed are able to find out what hospital the boy is in, locate his room, and through healing herbs and incantations bring him out of his comma. Pretty cool. Only later do we see that the "doctor" that instructs them is not Karsh but Illena who has transfigured herself.

At the twins Halloween - birthday party where they go as each other they discover that Madision is really Fredo in disguise. Fredo is there other uncle and in this book the one that really killed there father the night they were born. Illena captures Fredo and takes him back to Coventry. Fredo can transform hisself into some kind of nasty lizard.

Well this was a interesting book. It wasn't my favorite in the collection but I didn't dislike it. It has some good moments. I liked how the Twitch's used thier magic to heal the little boy in the hospital. I thought that was touching. I liked how they got revenge on Karyn's friend although it was a little disturbing to envision her hands all sticky and covered in blood with money stuck to them and the foul order. Still it was a very interesting moment. I know the Twitch's are mostly suppose
to be "good" witches but it gave them a little dark edge (just a little).

I'll give this book six and a half stars. ”
