“This book wasn't as good as I thought it would be. When I initially picked it up I thought it would be interesting to learn the dead language of yiddish and use it in my every day vocabulary. I thought that as a jew it would be part of my "duties" to look into the history of a language once spoken among us. I did end up learning a lot of fun yiddish terms that i look foward to using but the actually story of the language wasn't as interestingly written as I thought it should be. I think that this book is good to skim through to learn terms but not the best book to read to actually understand the history of the language.”
