Very well written and evocative of an era where courtesans ruled.”

Nell Gwynne sells oranges in front of the London's King Theatre, and meets King Charles after the plague and great fire that devestated England. She is unaware that he is the King. It isn't long until her quick wit gets her noticed and she is an actress, the toast of London. It also doesn't take her long to get noticed by the King, who is known to keep many mistresses, but is intrigued by the way Nell doesn't throw herself at him. This is a fictional novel based on real events and very breathtaking.”
“This book was a wonderful summer read!”

King Charles II was a very complex individual and the women in his life sure had to deal with a lot of crap. Some delt with it better than others, and this book is a fictional peek into that world.”
