Well for a while the "new" girlfriend did seem to be well balanced and the opposite of the old girlfriend. But she gradually became version 2.0 of the ex girlfriend. I think that twist was brilliant. And no, dudes don't jerk of as often this cat.

not to say that i didn't enjoy this book, because i did, and i even made my friends read it... but i found myself, throughout my reading of this book, to be screaming at the female characters (especially casey and her mother)... i'm not taking this book as great literature that needs to be read and discussed in great length and detail, but i was frustrated with the way females were portraied... the ex-girlfriend was a caniving little b****, the new girlfriend even found a way to get what she wanted in the end (and it didn't seem like the main character was even too happy about that, he just settled)... and the ex-girlfriend's mother?!?!? she was psycho! sending a letter to him and blaming him for ruining his daughter's life because it will take her so much longer to get married?!?!?

i'm not saying "people like that" arn't out there... but this book definately had a very skewed viewpoint on the female population and i just found myself wishing there was another female stereotype the author could have explored to balance it out...

so, i was just wondering what other people's take on the female characters of the book? and if anyone else was frustrated with them and wanted something more?

and p.s. how many times can one guy jerk off in a day? seriously?
