Once again, Jenny Nimmo has really exposed her writing skills in this intense series. I actually prefer this book over book one of "Charlie Bone and the Children of the Red King".
This story begins with Charlie's great-great uncle getting twisted into time by a magical marble called the Time Twister. He ends up traveling from the early 1900's to present day Bloor's academy. After he is exposed, the Yewbeam sisters and the Bloor's are out to get Henry.
I really thought that the characters were depicted very well. We still saw Charlie's powers being used, which got very exciting at some points. Also, Charlie's friend Emily really learned how to use her power of flying effectively. Pretty much all of the characters stay the same, except Mrs. Bloor, who was first thought to be a ghost.
Like all of the Charlie Bone books, the Story takes place in London. By the end of the book though, Charlie visits the rocky coast of England. While reading, I also got a further look into the mysterious ruin at Bloor's Academy. Unlike the first book, not much took place in Benjamen's house.
The plot of this story was filled with excitement and adventure. When Charlie first sees that Henry is in trouble, he tries his hardest to save him. I enjoyed this plot because it was almost a Good v.s Bad story. I can't give away the full ending, but the Good side won. Unfortunately, the Yewbeams and Bloors will be back again in the next book!
After reading this book, I got to look further into the overal plot of the series, and I also got persuaded to buy or rent the next book!

Time travel stories normally bore me, but i really liked this one... Even though it's only the second book, I feel quite connected with the character, and am willing to read about ANYTHING they do...

Charlie Bone and the Time Twister is a very exciting book. It is the second in a series. There is a kid that vanishes and goes into a different time. It's an amazing book! Shane
