Just Listen

by Sarah Dessen

Last year, Annabel was "the girl who has everything"—at least that’s the part she played in the television commercial for Kopf ’s Department Store. This year, she’s the girl who has nothing: no best friend because mean-but-exciting Sophie dropped her, no peace at home since her older sister became anorexic, and no one to sit with at lunch. Until she meets Owen Armstrong. Tall, dark, and... (more)

Annabel Greene used to be friends with Sophie, but over the summer there was in incident where Sophie thought Annabel was doing things with her boyfriend which she WASN'T, so things change during the school year. She has no friends until music-obsessed, truth-telling Owen befriends her. He enlightens her about music and trys to make Annabel open up to the things in her life. Her sister Whitney's eating disorder, wanting to quit modeling, and what happened with Sophie, and the little fibs she tells her mother. Annabel learns that being honest can take a load off your shoulders and you can learn a lot if you just listen. Great book like all of Dessen's stuff. Read it!

Wonderful story about relationships among family members and friends. A great girl read for middle school or high school. I loved Owen's character. Great guy role model.

Two sisters. Both models. One strives to stay model thin by starving herself while the other seeks a way out of the career. A great book, once again, of finding onesself and being there for your family.

I think this book was pretty good. It was boring at first, but then it got better. I like how Sarah Dessen incorporates music into the book. The main character is awesome!

I absolutely loved this book. It always helps me when I'm having trouble with boys, besides this little piece of information, I also love a lot of other books by Sarah Dessen. I feel that all of her books pose as a reminder that love can happen with anyone, at anywhere, and at any time. I especially recommend this book this book to girls only.

"Just Listen" a story by the talented Sarah Dressen. In which a teenage girl named Annabel Greene "the girl who has everything" in her modeling life, but has nothing in real life, learns how to find the strenght to tell the truth. That one secret she has been hiding since the day of the party in which her best friends boyfriend Will Crash harassed her.Annabel felt like she had lost all hope, she lost her one true friend thanks to Sophie ,Will Crash's girlfriend which was her best friend but now her ex-best friend. The rumors about her and Will Crash spreaded around the school leaving her alone.Always crying herself to sleep and hiding in the library at lunch. With her orlder sister having an eating dissorder that now makes her head look like it belonged to another body has now made her family come apart. And the only thing that seems to keep her mom happy is her modeling life.Even if Annables biggest desire is to quit. When she meets Owen Armstrong,a "i can't live with out music" guy, determined to always tell the truth no matter what the consequences comes into her life, she finds the strenght to finally tell her mom the truth. And with Owen's help she fills a case to arresnt Will Crash for a second-degree rape. This adventurous and conflict story will get in everyones hearts.

This book I thought had its good parts and bad parts. This book was about a girl named Annabel Who makes friends with a girl named Sophie who has been stocking her older sister. When she becomes friends with Sophie her old friend Clair turns aginst her when Annabel runs off with Sophie leaving her behind. Annabel has to go though high school without Clair, or Sophie because she brakes off the friendship when Sophie thought her boyfriend was cheeding on her with Annabel. Untill she meets Owen who lisens to hes ipod all the time. After spending time with him she ends up liking him, she aslo gets back together with Clair not Sophie.
