• A.J: Arlo Jervis (better known as A.J.) is the first person and one of the main characters in the books. He hates Elementary school, and on the other hand, his arch-enemy Andrea Young loves school and all the other things that A.J. hates.He also has many catch phrases such as "I wish something would fall on Andrea's head" or "My name is A.J and I hate school". His real name, Arlo Jervis, was known in Mr. Docker is Off His Rocker!, when Andrea made a big announcement that A.J. stood for Arlo Jervis. Since then, Andrea kept calling A.J. Arlo because A.J. thinks she knows how much he hates it. His best friends are Michael, Ryan, and Neil.

• Andrea: Andrea Young is the smartest person in A.J.'s class, one of two primary antagonists, and usually corrects A.J. and the boys from mistakes they make while talking, and occasionally says "Boys are dumbheads." She always raises her hand after any questions are asked and moans "Ooh, ooh, ooh" which makes her look like she needs to go to the bathroom, according to A.J. Her mother is the PTA vice president of Ella Mentry School.
• Emily: is a character in which Andrea is her accomplice. She is also the other of the two antagonists. Emily agrees in everything that Andrea says, making A.J. think that Andrea and Emily are the most annoying students he met. He also thinks that Emily is a crybaby, because A.J. always cries and "runs out of the room" when A.J. says something mean to her, for example when he said "I see London, I see France, I see Emily's underpants". She appeared in every book except Mr. Sunny is Funny!
• Ryan: Ryan Dole is an African American boy who will eat just about anything, even stuff that is not edible. His mom made an appearance in the first My Weird School Daze book. She was known as the new PTA president of the next school year.
• Michael: Michael Robinson is one of A.J.'s best friends. He is notorious for never tying his shoes. He is the tallest person in the class and wears glasses. He is a main character.
