“A real lifter-upper of a hagiography in which we get full descriptions of Rose's torture devices, how she slits her wrists, and how she pounds nails into her flesh. In the interludes, there are really sweet moments about her mystical union with God and how she gets there by...well...paying careful attention to her modesty and prayer and (my favorite part)...making sure the torture devices are PUT AWAY so the other nuns and her confessor don't see them.
