“interesting premise, if a bit convoluted. The "big reveal" at the end explains all of the hows and whys”Brenda H wrote this review Friday, March 8, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“I couldn't stop reading this book. I have since downloaded about four more John Locke books. There were parts that were often confusing but it added so much to the plot because the main character was just as confused. It put you into the mind of the characters and made you one with the book. It was both thrilling and suspenseful.”Arrowsmith wrote this review Wednesday, March 7, 2012. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“Fast paced and an easy read. The story got a tad crazy in the middle, but overall it was worth the read. ”Anne Marie Neal wrote this review Monday, February 13, 2012. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“It is clear to me that not everyone should read this book or any book by this author. Those who are comfortable in their own boring little box, sitting next to the lamp with the gray shade, with the kitty-cat purring next to them and listening to Mozart should likely never buy one of John Locke's books. For those who want a whacko adventure for .99 will be glad that when they get to the last one in the series that Locke gets writer's cramp. That is because you might want to put aside all other reading so you can get to the next Donovan Creed novel. Snobs need to quickly abandon any thought of reading Saving Rachel. This is far outside your comfort zone.(”Ken Rossignol wrote this review Saturday, February 4, 2012. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No

“"Saving Rachel" was my first introduction to Donovan Creed, and I like the man. I enjoyed the book - the plot twists and turns throughout, the characters have to make some horrific choices, but the scene I loved most involved red eye gravy.
The characters John Locke created came straight from my small town and they would've reacted the same way to any intruder who didn't appreciate the finer things in life - namely, red eye gravy and biscuits, and women who need a shave. I didn't think anyone other than my family knew about red eye gravy anymore, and it was an absolute delight to see such a tasty Southern dish worked into a novel.
Any man who can write so convincingly about red eye gravy deserves to be read. I'll look forward to getting to know Donovan Creed better in the future. ”
“Rated 2 stars to 3 stars. I read the book fairly quickly, in 2 sit downs. Novel was interesting, but writing and plot was confusing and twisty. Ending didn't really tell much to the reader. ”Caitlyn Jones wrote this review Saturday, December 10, 2011. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No

Saving Rachel is a scary, funny, roller coaster ride through hell, with twists and turns that will slap your face and suck you in!
This story had me pulled in right from the beginning. This was definitely some riveting reading that kept me turning the pages faster and faster and faster. I felt like I was running on a treadmill that was picking up more and more speed the further the story went along and didn’t know how or when I was going to be able to get off.
The characters were so well developed in this novel and so well thought out that each person depicted was so clearly vivid that you felt you knew them and were afraid of the ones you needed to be afraid of and befriended the ones that needed befriending. Never before have I felt a ‘fear’ towards a character and this was a huge thrill for me in this book. The story is intelligent and extremely clever. Mr. Locke certainly did his homework in preparing to pen this book. I would highly recommend this to everyone as a DON’T MISS IT!!
